Morning views
On clear mornings the cloud sits below the ridge and the valley appears in pieces as it burns off. Tea is on the terrace from six; the kitchen opens at seven.
Slow afternoons
Read in the lounge, walk one of the ridge trails that start at our gate, or sit in the garden and do nothing at all. Most guests find they do less than they planned.
Evenings at Nosvra
Dinner is served from half past six. Afterwards there is usually a fire on the terrace when the weather allows, and the lights of the valley below.
Dining
Seasonal ingredients, familiar Nepalese flavours, and simple dishes prepared for slow meals.
Breakfast is included and served from seven: eggs however you want them, seasonal fruit, Nepali tea, and bread baked here each morning. On request the kitchen will do a Nepali breakfast of roti and vegetable curry instead.
In the evening the menu is short — usually a dal bhat set, one or two Newari dishes, a noodle or momo option, and something continental for guests who have been travelling a while. Vegetarian and vegan versions of nearly everything are available; tell reception in the afternoon and the kitchen will plan for it.
Most vegetables come from the valley below, and the herbs come from our own garden. What is not local, we do not pretend is.

The hills start at the gate
Most of what there is to do here is outside and on foot. Reception can sketch you a route, arrange a guide from the village, or book a car down to Bhaktapur.

Sunrise at the viewpoint
The Nagarkot viewpoint tower is a walk from the resort along the ridge. On clear winter mornings the range is visible from Ganesh Himal round toward the east; in monsoon you will more likely see cloud, and we will tell you honestly the night before.

Ridge and forest walks
Several trails start within a few minutes of our gate, from an easy hour through the pine to longer routes down toward Chhaling and Changunarayan. We can sketch you a route or arrange a local guide.

Village walks
The settlements below the resort are working farming villages, not attractions. A slow walk through them in the late afternoon, ideally with someone who lives here, is the thing guests tend to remember.

Bhaktapur and Changunarayan
Bhaktapur Durbar Square and the temple at Changunarayan are both an easy drive down the hill. We can arrange a car and a driver who will wait for you.

Photography
The light here is the reason many people come. Early morning from the deck, late afternoon along the ridge, and the hour after sunset over the valley are the three worth setting an alarm for.
